Land Allocated for New Headquarters of the OIC

The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has received a cable from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the effect that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz has issued his gracious directives for a plot of land to be allocated for the erection of the permanent headauarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, in Jeddah.

This gracious decision bears witness, once again, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s keen desire to support the Organization of the Islamic Conference and enable it to discharge its task in an optimal way.

In response, the OIC Secretary General Dr. Azeddine LARAKI addressed a message of thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, in his own name and on behalf of the OIC fifty-six Member States. And on this occasion, the Secretary General has been received in an audience by H.R.H. Prince Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, on Tuesday afternoon, 15 Jumada I, 1421H (15 August 2000) at His Royal Highness’ Office at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
