Malaysian Foreign Minister Reviews with the Officials of the Organization of the Islamic Conference the Arrangements for Holding the Twenty-seventh Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers

Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Ambassador Ibrahim Bakr, received at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Jeddah today, Sunday 24 Safar 1421H (28 May 2000) H.E. the Malaysian Foreign Minister, Syed Hamid Al-Bar and his accompanying delegation currently visiting the Kingdom.

During the meeting, they exchanged friendly conversations and reviewed the arrangements underway to hold the Twenty-seventh Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers from 27 to 30 June 2000. They also discussed the various aspects of cooperation and issues of joint interest to Malaysia and the Organization in view of the fact that the former is a founding member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

On his part, the Assistant Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference informed H.E. the Malaysian Foreign Minister of the progress of work at the General Secretariat of the Organization and its various departments. H.E. Syed Hamid Al-Bar expressed his appreciation of the efforts exerted by the Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, H.E. Dr. Azeddine LARAKI in order to enhance the performance of the Organization to a level commensurate with the aspirations of the leaders and peoples of the Islamic Ummah and to increase its effectiveness both at the Islamic and international levels.
