OIC Secretary General Dr. Azeddine Laraki, Appeals for Urgent Assistance to Mozambique to Alleviate the Consequences of the Flood-disaster

His Excellency Dr. Azeddine Laraki, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) issued a statement on the horrifying floods that have inundated parts of Mozambique, destroying any signs of life in several parts of the country and resulting in tens of thousands of victims and displaced people.

The Secretary General stated that the OIC has extended financial assistance to Mozambique. He called on the OIC Member States and the international community to expeditiously extend all forms of possible assistance to help the government of Mozambique alleviate the consequences of the disaster. He hoped for a total response to his appeal.
