OIC Press Release
Dr. Azeddine Laraki, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, said that the wave of optimism to which the recent developments witnessed by the peace talks on the Palestinian track had given birth, should not make the international community and public opinion overlook the need to take effective measures to put an end to the Israeli illegitimate practices aimed at altering the demographic, cultural, historical and religious features of the City of Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
Laraki added, at the inauguration of the meeting of the Sixth-Member Committee on Palestine which was held on Friday at the UN headquarters in New York, that “No peace can be achieved whilst the Israeli bulldozers and raisers continue to undermine the Palestine properties and establish settlements on their rubbles”.
With regard to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo, the Secretary General declared at the inauguration of the meeting of the Contact Group that the Organization is determined to continue playing a diligent and effective role to ensure the preservation of the rights of Muslims on parity with the other races and national groups coexisting in the Balkans.
The Secretary General reviewed the aids extended by the OIC Member States to the Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in Kosovo.
