The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received in his office today ,Sunday 30 November 2008 Mr. Ron Strickker , the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting discussed the preparations for the upcoming visit of the Secretary General to Netherlands and the agenda of the visit.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of the Organization of the Islamic Conference at the international level and expressed the desire of his country to deepen its relationship with the organization in all areas of common interest.
On his part Prof. Ihsanoglu, welcomed Netherlands' interest in the activities of the OIC and stated that the OIC is very keen to further strengthening its bilateral relations with Netherlands to promote dialogue and understanding.
The meeting discussed various issues of mutual concern including the issue of cooperation between the OIC and the EU especially in combating intolerance and discrimination in any form.
