Her Highness Shaykha Muza Bint Nasir Al Musnad, wife of His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar, has announced in a statement at the ongoing international conference on higher education in Paris, organized by UNESCO, the establishment of an international Higher Education Fund in Iraq. She also unveiled the generous initiative of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani that the Qatar Educational, Scientific and Societal Development Organization, founded in 1995, be the first contributor in support of the Fund.
The General Secretariat of the Organization of the Islamic Conference has the honour to welcome this new project which it considers a good initiative worthy of encouragement and support. More so because the international Higher Education Fund in Iraq aims to provide the necessary assistance within the framework of reorganizing higher education in Iraq, and it constitutes the building block in restructuring education, with the cooperation of Iraqi specialists, as an effective principle for future development. The General Secretariat is of the view that this new initiative could pave the way to assist the future Iraqi government to execute its higher education projects.
