Dr. Abdelouahed BELKEZIZ, Secretary General of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, condemned the criminal terrorist acts that have been perpetrated in Casablanca and that have claimed the lives of many innocent people.
The Secretary General strongly deplored these abominable acts carried out at the hands of certain individuals who have acted in contempt of all values, morals and creeds, foremost of which the noble and tolerant Islamic faith which lays a particular emphasis on the inviability of human life. He noted that these atrocious crimes aimed at terrorizing the innocent, spilling their blood and destabilizing Morocco, a secure and peaceable country, could further tarnish the image of Islam in the outside world, and feed the campaigns directed against it. The Secretary General also recalled the OIC’s past stands in denouncing and condemning international terrorism, and called for heightened vigilance and inter-state cooperation to combat this phenomenon.
The Secretary General addressed a cable of sympathy and condolences to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Sovereign of the Kingdom of Morocco, in which he expressed his profound sorrow and grief at these terrible events and their consequent damage and loss of innocent lives.
